News24: ACDP says it was hoping to do better in the 2014 elections, and has seen the need to market itself as a value-driven ..party ... “We stand for values, honesty, integrity – this appeals to people of different faiths and even non believers,” ACDP MP Steve Swart told News24 on Friday. “I think there’s a desire in the nation for value-driven politics, for people of integrity, for servant-hearted leaders, in view of scandals we’ve had,” he said, referring to the controversy surrounding the upgrade of President Jacob Zuma’s Nkandla residence. Swart added that the results of News24’s Which Party Do You Support quiz, where many people were surprised to find themselves most closely aligned to the ACDP, shows that people voted according to values. However, the party’s election results were not as positive as the online quiz, he added. While the ACDP was hoping to do better, it has retained its seats in Parliament and was not “decimated” like Cope and other small parties, Swart said. ACDP has retained 3 seats in the National Assembly.
