Next eNCAnews Sibusiso “Deebo” Mzobe, the cousin of President Jacob Zuma, has been allegedly paid R24 million by the Mkhondo Municipality, in Mpumalanga, for his role in a low-cost housing project. We spoke to Mzobe. This is what he had to say: - There is no middle man... - As far as I know government is doing it, the only thing that we’ve been doing was to mobilise in our community... - We are mobilising our community to do things by themselves, use the land that is available to produce food... - No one is paying us, we started this programme with our own funds, government has not paid us... - Our role is to coordinate... - This is unfortunate, I never chose to be related to the President, we don’t get to choose our family... - I don’t have any power to stop an investigation if there is a need to... - I have no dodgy dealings with the government or the President. * Picture courtesy of iol.co.za
