Next in my techie biking thoughts....clothing! I love my high tech bike fabrics. I wear Lycra leggings (yoga leggings, IIRC, but, Lycra and spandex type, not cotton) with a skirt over. The biking skirts are all too skimpy and short for me, so I made my own out of black Lycra. It is just above knee length and fuller, elastic waist. One might do well with a bathing suit skirt, if not a sewer but wanted a fuller skirt. I wear exercise poly shirts, or proper bike shirts. The standard sizes dont fit me well (Terry goes up to 2x) so I found an ETSY shop where they will custom make bike shirts (mine fit great!!! I just got some long sleeved ones). Even though bents have back rests, I am finding the back pockets very useful on my shirts when I stand up. The shape of the shirts work well, too, with the long backs. I dont wear biking socks, but handknit wool socks, I make them with low ribbed ankles for riding, and I have hand knit wool leggings for cold. I tried to buy a biking shrug, but it just didnt fit, so I made my own, super easy, out of a poly knit. My gloves are high tech knit with grips on the fingers and palm, no padding. I was pleased to find these simple ones! I dont need padding, of course. I need a face mask of some sort and ear Warmers. So far, in the cold Ive used a silk/wool infinity scarf, which works surprisingly well. But, I need to replace it, it is a nice, dressy one and I dont want to keep washing it!
