Next installment from Susie Jennings :-) The Mares at Coffee Time Gossip...Gossip...Gossip All the mares were coffee housing...standing about and talking about the latest news. Who do you think will get their ticket to travel?......asked Gracie Oh...I so hope it will be my turn....said Coco...I have been waiting for a long time....I want a fresh start.....away from the place where I lost my baby.... Duchess....I am so sorry you lost your baby...Coco.....but you might be lucky and be able to stay with one of the Fillies. I dont suppose all of us from the riding school, can have a hope of going and even if we were that lucky...do you think any of us might stay together? There was a chorus of chatter.....mares form strong ties and they feared the worst....separation. Magic bustled over.....You will never guess what I have heard! She said.....There is a long list...a very long list...of horses going HOME.....she twittered. Athena chimed in.....the list is HUGE! They said ...some of us WILL stay together....but sadly not all...she looked downcast for a moment.....then brightening said....but we will all have a HOME. Total silence followed this incredible news...each of the mares thought about the stories Gracious had told them...about her Mum describing a HOME. Of feeling like you are the most special horse in the world....having your own person....having your own headcollar...your own bucket....your own ...your very own Person. Hearing your own Person call your name......the thoughts whirled through the mares. Bonjour....Bonjour....called Summer as she shimmied across the yard...... Just look at Summer...said Pheonix.....She is so elegant.....she should be a Show horse! The lovely Chestnut Selle Francais mare twirled around, she tossed her mane as only a French horse can. Bonjour...Summer joined the mares. Pheonix ....I heard the People talking about the UK...it means United Kingdom.....United....everyone together....everyone together in the Kingdom. So even if we live at different homes...we will still be together. The mares were excited about this news.... And....I listened in when the Man People were talking too....said Pheonix. They were talking about all the games the men play in the UK.... Oh .....not that Football thing again!....exclaimed Duchess.....kicking a ball around....up and down...back and forth! Yes...thats it said Pheonix....Football...a big round bouncing ball....the men love it apparently! I hope they have something for the ladies ....said Eclipse. I am absolutely sure they will...said Gracie....it cant all be babies and work! Magic..Piaffed...jigging excitedly.....Tell them the rest, Pheonix! Oh Yes....Women People were talking about a SHOW....said Pheonix...her voiced bubbled with excitement. A SHOW....they all shouted.....the mares danced around the yard...each giving a display of footwork to rival the best dressage display. The fillies looked on in wonder. Whats it all about? They trilled... Iona and Coco and Divine copied the mares...twirling and skipping and pointing their toes! All the riding school horses knew about SHOWS.....
