Next month, Croatia will have to go through the usual bullshit of deciding whether we as a nation want to allow or ultimately block gays and lesbians from marrying and adopting children by making gay marriage unconstitutional. The anti-gay organization thats gaining popularity with the voters is operating under the regular tired ol refrain of we dont have any problem with homos loving each other, its just that we shouldnt let them ruin the sanctity of marriage or risk them raising messed-up children. The research they cite to back their idiotic claims is from the USA and is written by some moron who, lo and behold, gets his ‘academic’ cred from a conservative religious organization. As a person who fundamentally opposes marriage in general, I cant believe Ill be going out to the voting booths in December and be on the side of gay marriage. But the issue of stopping the oppression of marginalized minorities is more important than my petty beliefs.
