Next month is #AfricanAmericanHeritageMonth and every year, my office and I present a display in the City Hall bridge celebrating members of the African American community. This year, we are honoring the Divine Nine, which are African American fraternities and sororities. Today, I met with Los Angeles NPHC President Lanee Burns, author of The Divine Nine Lawrence Ross, Alpha Phi Alpha former Western Region Vice President and Historian Norman Towels, and the Southern California District Area Director of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Dwayne Buggage to discuss how to implement the Divine Nine display.
