Next spring will mark the 10 year anniversary of Dan and I getting together to unwittingly create Mad Conductor. We recorded a goofy song called The 1,2 Haunt that would eventually turn into Troubles in the Sewer. In honor of this decade of MC we are very excited to launch a kickstarter fundraising campaign for the dual purpose of supporting a new EP, titled Space Rock Steady, in which we will re-explore the early roots of our space rock style in a fun and carefree manner; and also to finally press our classic LP, Renegade Space Rock, on lime green 12 vinyl, to help celebrate our ten year mark. Once we have our little introduction video made for the kickstarter page we will be able to get going with the pledge drive, possibly as early as the end of next week. As for the new music, we are doing an EP instead of an LP for a few reasons. Mainly because the songs are already written, and Im really excited about them, and the recording process will be quicker - getting that music out while the idea is still fresh on all of our minds. Also because I feel like the EP format is a good way to take in Mad Conductor music - our stuff tends to be very heavy, 4 or 5 songs is often plenty to chew on! The Space Rock Steady EP will be 5 songs - well also be releasing it on vinyl if we reach our kickstarter goal, and CD (in cardboard casing) that will contain two bonus tracks - a sound collage introduction (a tripped-out amalgamation of various MC moments) and a remix of one of our classic songs. I think the time has come for Mad Conductor to become a household name. These ten years have just been practice.
