Nice blog post from Grade 7 Team Leader Debra Sands-Holden: Today I was fortunate enough to be able to be present at a special awards ceremony for those middle school students who have been highly active in community service through the school. Students from all three grades were recognized, not just by Mr. Walker, Mr. Brumskill, and Mr. Little, but also by the President of the United States. Each student was given a special certificate, pin, and a copy of the letter written by President Obama commending their community service. I would like to take this opportunity to recognize Amelia, Sarah, Carli, Dean, Paul, and Augusta for representing the seventh grade so well. We are all incredibly proud and appreciative of the community service you have all done throughout the 2013-2014 school year. I know many students also do incredible work on their own, and while unnamed here, I want to thank you as well. King strives to imbed a sense of responsibility and community in all of our students and the 7th grade team is never prouder than when we see these values in the actions of our students.
