Nice morning assisting worship at First Baptist Mooresville. Generally, when I am at a church it is some sort of special occasion. This Sunday was no different. However it was a pleasant and well-thought out stewardship Sunday sermon. Some very nice points trying to demonstrate the idea of selfless giving (used the widows mite story) and how Christian giving must be from that perspective of wanting to give and not feeling like they are forced to give or giving to get some sort of other reward. Also nailed home REALLY hard the concept that everything on Earth belongs to God, and we are just stewards. Theres no pockets in funeral shrouds. Talked a lot about the poor perspective of people who are constantly talking about Its my money! I earned it! I can do with it what I want. Nobody can take it from me and give it to someone else.... kinda reminded me of a certain political bend.
