Nice speech by Jamie Whyte - ACT Party leader - at the campaign opening. It shows how politics has evolved and will continue to evolve over time. Even if the occasional leader stumbles, the trend is clear. Before life evolved by genetic mutation. Now, human life, ceases to be animalistic and collectivist. It ought to be rational, such that humans evolve, not through genetic advantage beyond the nominal standard of a rational cognitive capacity, but rather upon the basis of values. These are the values espoused by Jamie. It remains to be seen whether he can defend them, as defenders of libertarianism in the past have failed to adequately defend them, or spread them. Its not easy when your counterparts are ultimately invalidating you by holding a gun to you, telling you to pay taxes. Their capacity to force (tax) us against our will, is the source of their sanction. The fact that we value life is the force of their control and power. That is a sanction they assume by threat; the threat of the mob against any minority that opposes them.
