Nice story from University High School, one of the schools that a number of Sycamore students choose as their high school each year. On Tuesday, Universitys JV volleyball team traveled to Indianapolis to play Manual HS. During the game, some University parents noticed that many of the Manual players lacked knee pads -- a helpful piece of equipment in volleyball that protects the knees of players who often hit the floor diving for balls -- because the school was financially unable to provide them. So two UHS moms issued a call to action, asking volleyball families to donate knee pads that could be gifted to the school. And in just two days those families pulled through. This morning, one mom delivered more than 20 pairs of knee pads (almost all new) to Manuals volleyball team -- enough to last the school roughly two years.
