Niger Innis to Run For Congress as a Tea Party Candidate Niger Innis, son of Core president, Roy Innis, is considering a run for the 4th District seat in Nevada, running against freshman Democratic Rep. Steven Horsford. Innis, an executive with the Tea Party and spokesman for Core has set up an exploratory committee and is raising money for a run in 2014. Horsford defeated Danny Tarkanian in 2012. The key to victory is a strong showing in Clark County. Clark County has over 90% of the population in District 4. The Daily Caller contacted Innis, who confirmed his plans to run. Innis worked for the Herman Cain campaign in 2012. His exploratory site says: “It is time to make Congress functional and effective again. If Niger ran for Congress, he’ll work to make that happen with a common sense, conservative approach to doing what is best for you, your family and our country.” Innis is exploring to see how much interest there is in his candidacy and how much financial and other support he can expect to receive. If he is satisfied, then he will announce his run officially. He got off to a good start when Herman Cain, Sheldon Adelson, Jeb Bush Jr, and Nevada activist Amy Tarkanian showed up at an event to support Innis. The district includes Las Vegas and several rural counties. freepatriot.org/2013/11/07/niger-innis-to-run-for-congress-as-a-tea-party-candidate/ November 07, 2013
