"Nigeria! We hail thee Our own dear native-land; though tribe and tongue may differ, In brother-hood we stand,..." Just remembering years of yore, particularly as defiant undergraduate students in the mid to late 1980s and the early 1990s at the University of Ibadan.The likes of Ayo Akinfe, Gbenga Komolafe, Bunmi Olusona, Adewale Barshar, Scoro 10 minus 2, and so many others I cannot recollect their names here and now. We used to relish in singing the colonial handed down national anthem above to spite the military class exerting stranglehood on the country at full throttle then. Even as we supposedly celebrate 53 years of independence in my heart something is still scream: " Nigeria! We hail thee...."
