Nigeria and Power generation: The biggest policy-joke. Neither - TopicsExpress

Nigeria and Power generation: The biggest policy-joke. Neither Jonathan nor his silly minister of power is serious about giving Nigerians regular and constant power supply. I say this because of this brief findings of mind. Do you know that for a city of 100,000 persons to have constant electricity, such city must generate 325mega watts of electricity? Nigeria is a country of about 150million people and she will need 487,500mega watts to have constant electricity. And as we speak, the Nigerian government has no plan whatsoever to generate such size of power. Rather the proposed plan of the government on power generation is expected to generate 6000mega watts which can barely carter for the regular electricity need of 19million Nigerians. Statistically, America a country with population (316.1 million people) that is almost twice that of Nigeria has constant electricity supply because, the United States of America generates 650,000megawatts ( which is over 107 times that of what we generate) , and 44% of this generated megawatts comes from some 527 operational coal plants littered across U.S. Same with United Kingdom, which is a country of 64.1million people, she has constant electricity because she generates 61500megawatts of electricity. This is why I said anyone who is expecting this Jonathan led administration to give Nigeria which is a country of over 150million people constant electricity, is nothing but a joke ; because the current mischievous plan of this administration to generate 6000megawatts is both indicative and reflective of the gross lack of seriousness on the part of successive administration to address the prolonged irregular electricity that has bedevilled Nigeria all these years. Hence my humbly message to all reasonable and realistic Nigerians is this; kindly forget about the idea of constant electricity for now; cos there is nothing on ground as we speak that suggest there will be constant electricity supply in 4years time.
