Nigeria of the Future It is sad to still observe that among people who are supposed to be really educated, we still have issues that border on tribal profiling and religious manipulation to keep the people under political or spiritual bondage. Nigerians are busy advertising tribal and religious sentiments at home but they enjoying traveling to Dubai(United Arab Emirates), a place where there is a State Religion called Islam but where they have created a vision that has deemphasized this fact and focus on economic and infrastructural wonder. There was a time the Government of Saudi Arabia was responsible for the mass exodus of our Medical and Health Personnel and we were seriously brain drained and yet Saudi is an Islamic State. A lot of Nigerians will do a wonderful testimony once they have an opportunity to either live or work in America where there is no State Religion and yet they will come back home and become suddenly religious to the extent of fighting for what they know not. What exactly is the problem of Nigeria? In my considered opinion, the problem is POVERTY. There is a Yoruba adage that says when you say you are not going to eat the food of your enemy and your friend refused to put any edible thing on fire, so what do you do? We need Leaders who does not see Nigeria as a tool for exploitation either spiritually or politically and honestly, the Nigeria of today has shown that we have a terrible ailment called, Poverty. It has made a lot of people who could have been useful in developing this country positively to now hide behind religion and politics and engage in continuous and consistent manipulation of the minds of Nigerians to achieve their narrow, self opinionated agenda. We have destroyed the Family System and we now practice a Nuclear Family System, borrowed from the developed world without the necessary support Infrastructure like a focused and meaningful Foundation established by those who have in order to support those who have not. We do not take delight in getting Old in Nigeria except when we can afford it because the medical and relational cost of maintaining an old person can bankrupt a young man/woman who is still trying to find his/her economic feet. The real cost of sending a child to a real school for a real education can make nonsense of a decent persons economic wage,(without stealing or corruption) in this case. The dignified people we call professionals are getting mean and less caring because it appears that a lot of them have now realized that under Maslows Hierarchy of Needs, they cannot boldly come out and say they are up there. A little sensitivity of their economic status and a lot of them will have survival issues that will affect both their manpower and health status. There is now a direct correlation between the blood pressure of almost all Nigerians and their economic pressure. So, where do we go from here? This election is not just about the APC or PDP. It is about Personalty. Let nobody deceive you, everything about this election is PERSONAL. The Fish Rots from the Head. The Nigerian Fish has become seriously rotten and it stinks and no amount of biblical or Islamic quotation by people who have lost even the locus standi to talk in the presence of God will change this, even with the machinery of disinformation. Righteousness exalts a Nation but Sin is a Reproach... We need to get it right, NOW.
