Nigerian Baptist Convention Seek Daily Tuesday, March 4 Matthew 2:1-6 THE KING OF THE JEWS… Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him. Matthew 2:2, NIVThe political condition of Judah was not impressive when Jesus Christ was born. The sceptre had departed from Judah. A usurper, supported by Gentile power, Herod, was reigning in the land. When the news of Christ’s birth reached the guilty tyrant who sat upon the Jewish throne, he “was troubled and all Jerusalem with him.” The “wise men,” being divinely led, sought, recognised His divinity, worshipped and gave Him gifts. They acknowledged Him as the King of the Jews. Why? They saw His star. Their hearts and lives were lighted by it.Have you seen His star? Has it lighted you? Do you have room for Him in your heart? Do you appreciate the salvation He brought into the world? If you have, praise Him. If not, allow the King of kings to rule your life. He is not just for the Jews but for everyone who accepts Him as Saviour and Lord. As you do, you will remain relevant in life just like the ‘wise men.’• Birthday Blessing: “In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:9Readu Bible Through Passage: Numbers 18, 19, 20; Mark 8:22-38Let God have your life; He can do more with it than you can. – D. L. Moody
