Nigerians can like to complain!!! Ondo state put out an ad to employ 2000 teachers and the stampede begins. But that is not my focus. Worse than the stampede is the complaints chief of which is the fee being charged to collect Primary school certificate. In traditional Naija style, rather than ask yourself why it took this to ginger you to collect your Pry Cert, it is to complain that they are charging a fee for it. If you feel the fee is illegal, rather than complain do something to adress the situatition instead. What can you do? You ask. 1.All of you that need the Pry. Cert. And attended same school should organize yourself together and go to your Pry schl same day. 2. When you get there, politely ask for your Pry. Cert. And if they ask that you pay a fee, ensure that you ask for a receipt. Let them know very politely too that if they dont have receipts for whatever the fee is, you will not part with your money. 3. If they say they have, then ensure that the receipt is valid by telling them to stamp it with the school stamp. If all these is done, pay, collect your Pry. Cert. And leave but make sure you keep the receipt it might come in handy later as evidence for a class act agaisnt the school if it was illegal. But if they refuse, to issue a valid receipt, all of you should politely decline to pay and calmly inform them that they will hear from your lawyers... But i doubt if any of the desperate job seekers will do this... that is our very Problem in Nigeria. And God cannot help us. And for your info, yours truly have applied this very process and it worked agaisnt the almighty FRSC who tried to collect 500N from me illegaly in the guise of selling me the highway code as a punitive measure. I calmly and vehemently said here is the money but i will need a receipt too. I stood my ground and i won. Yes time was wasted... but i won. That is another problem we have, we are in a hurry too.
