Night at the Museum Something strange is happening at the McPherson Museum in McPherson, Ks. There is a night watchman who will let no one into the Museum, while at the same time a vintage docent is determined that everyone come into the Museum so she can spend all night telling us everything she knows about every object in the Museum. It is all part of “Night at the Museum” and it happens this Friday evening, August 1, 2014. Costumed young time travelers will provide interpretations during half hour to forty-five minute tours which begin at 3:00. The last tour will begin at 6:30. Call the Museum at 620-241-8464 to reserve your spot for a delightful evening. The maximum number for each tour is fifteen. Following the final tour the public is invited to join the historical performance troupe for refreshments and discussion about the figures they portray and the context of their lives. Attendees will want to bring cameras. Each young historian will choose an artifact in the museum, research the story of that object, decide who to portray to interpret that item, learn the story from the perspective of that person, and practice telling the story in an entertaining way. For more information, contact Amy, 620-241-8464, at the Museum.
