Nighttime Commentary: Why New Orleans Is One Of The Greatest Places On Earth SCENE. Its summer time 2007(?) in The Big Easy and its Jazz Fest! the music and festivities are just as hot as that humid Southern weather. One night after the concerts, three people ventured out to experience the local flavor of this beautiful city. They came across a tiny hole-in-the-wall called The Spotted Cat. It was packed with people. A jazz quartet was playing for the crowd that was so large, it spilled out onto the sidewalk. No one seemed to mind because the music was amazing and so was this moment. Little did we all know was that we were about to watch the magic of New Orleans unfold right before their eyes. INT/EXT THE SPOTTED CAT- NIGHT THERE IS A LARGE CROWD OF LISTENERS PACKED INSIDE THE SMALL BAR AND ON THE SIDEWALK. A CAB PULLS UP AND A DRUNK GENTLEMEN (BM 30S) HOLDING A TRUMPET EXITS AND WALKS UP. HE GIVES HIS TRUMPET A BLOW, STARTLING ALL OF THE LISTENERS ON THE SIDEWALK. THE CROWD CLEARS A PATH FOR HIM AS HE STUMBLES INTO THE BAR. THEN, THIS HAPPENS... #NOLA #mylife
