Im guessing these acquisitions mean that Oculus is planning to (or at least seriously considering) use of SLAM for position tracking for mobile devices. Carmack mentioned trying out... Metaio I think... previously, but performance wasnt quite there. My guess is that the next iteration of Gear VR (or similar) will have a wide angle lens, and possibly a depth sensor. Exciting times.
