Nine (9) Persons Arrested for Violation of PD 705 Albay PNP strongly campaign against “Illegal Logging” which led to the arrest of the persons engaged on said illegal activities. Accordilgly, Malinao MPS arrested the following persons, namely: Edgar Belarmino y Cańon (chainsaw operator), 34 years old; Renato Dias Jr., y Calleja (helper), 25 years old; both residents of Purok 6, Brgy. Tinawan; and Cesar Canillo y Cellano (caretaker of the land), 48 years old, married, and a resident of Purok 5, Sugcad; all of Malinao, Albay, while actually cutting down a Gumihan Tree using a chainsaw. Upon verification made by the apprehending officers with the suspects yielded negative for possession of a neither permit nor certificate of registration of the chain saw. Confiscated from the suspects were one unit white/orange stihl chain saw with defaced serial number and its paraphernalia. Arrested persons and the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Malinao MPS for proper disposition. On the other hand, at about 1:30 PM of August 6, 2014, at Brgy. Centro Poblacion, Malilipot, Albay, particularly near Busay Falls, elements of Malilipot MPS apprehend the following persons, namely: Vicente Boholano y Pielago, 60 years old, married; Miguel Boholano y Burce, 29 years old; Henry Boholano y Burce, 34 years old, married; all residents of Sitio Totoy Mabini, Brgy. 1, malilipot, Albay; Virgilio Boholano y Valenzuela, 29 years old, single; Romulo Boholano y Valenzuela, 44 years old, married; and Benjamin Burce y Boncalos, 46 years old, single; all residents of Purok 7, Bantayan, Tabaco City, while cutting Tabgon tree using chain saw without necessary permit and certificate of registration of the chain saw. Confiscated from the suspects possession were one unit white/orange and one piece 2x6x10 Tabgon tree. Arrested suspects along the confiscated pieces of evidence were brought to Malilipot MPS for proper disposition.
