Nine months ago today, I made the biggest decision in my life. Now, a lot has happened in the last nine months and I often feel like it has actually been nine years. I have had an incredible journey, and met new amazing people. I have begun to cultivate new friendships and build on existing ones. I have gotten closer to my family. And I have fallen in love with an incredible human being that I am so happy is in my life, Jake Cordova. He lifts me up, when I am down and loves me despite my flaws. I am so grateful for everyone who has helped me get through this and been on my side as I experience the stages of grief and rebirth. I am continuing to heal and to grow, and I am on my way to be The Phoenix that I set out to become. As long as I continue to be honest to myself and others, and to be gentle with myself and my shortcomings, I know I will be worthy of the love and care everyone has bestowed upon me. I can never fully convey the gratitude I feel to be alive and loved by all of you.
