No Coincidence! It sounds pretty high falutin to say a chance - TopicsExpress

No Coincidence! It sounds pretty high falutin to say a chance encounter was Ordained by God, but I have a strong sense thats exactly what happened to me this morning. I left my mom alone for a few minutes to run down and get some coffee. I decided to skip the elevator and take the steps down 5 flights to the cafeteria. Exactly one flight down, I ran into a custodian, mopping the stairs. They didnt look all that wet, so I asked if it was ok to keep going. He gave me a sad look, and asked me to please use the elevator. As the doors opened on, I saw familiar faces. Sharon Cook, and her husband Mark were getting off, as I was getting on. (They own the Chic Filet franchises in Abq and are very involved in helping many area ministries and civic groups). She said Oh Steve, I was going to try and reach you, as I saw your mom fell and broke her leg yesterday. Ive been praying for you and we hope she is ok. I thanked her and asked why she was at the hospital. Were here to see MY mom, who also fell, and broke HER hip yesterday. she said. We chatted for a few minutes, and discovered our moms are almost exactly the same age too! We exchanged well wishes, and promised to pray for each other, and for our moms. What are the odds? Im sure a mathematician could run the figures, but it boggles my mind. Id already been down that same set of steps 3 times in the past few hours, with no problem. Yet, for some reason, it seems that in an area of about half a million people, God clearly wanted Sharon and me to run into each other, at that very moment, in that very spot! Was it to so we each could encourage the other? To know that we are never alone in our troubles? That others are often going through the same things or worse? Or just to hear of another believer putting faith into action? Whatever the reason, the result was sweet and helpful...and put a big smile on my face. She and Mark were their usual kind and encouraging selves, and I am excited to be able to pray for her mom, as so many of you have been doing so wonderfully for mine. I hope you will add them to your prayers also. Have a great day, and keep your eyes open for important chance encounters...that have absolutely NOTHING to do with chance! Steve Stucker
