No Insurance On Sunday, January 27, 2014, around 9:00 p.m., a South Simcoe Police constable stopped a car on Holland Street West, Bradford. The driver was unable to provide the officer with a current insurance slip. The officer investigated further, and discovered that the mans insurance had lapsed and that he was currently uninsured. A 47 year old Bradford man will be in court in February to answer to a charge of Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance. The public are reminded that driving without insurance carries a minimum fine of $5000. Uninsured drivers and the owners of uninsured vehicles are personally liable for damages and injury they cause. Even a minor collision can cost thousands of dollars in property damage. The Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act requires that all motor vehicle be insured. The South Simcoe Police has a zero tolerance policy for road safety violations.
