No Nasties is a journey. We share the good times with you, and wed like to share the tough times as well. This post is about one of those tough times...about whats happening now. Couple of weeks ago, we told you theyre coming - our new tees, our new collection, our new prints that weve been waiting to arrive for months now! (Honestly, these are my favourite prints weve ever done - theyre beautiful!!) They came, and they werent up to the mark, and we had to reject the entire lot of thousands of lovely organic, fair trade cotton tees. It broke our heart, but we knew we could not allow anything that didnt meet our standards. One of the phrases we use a lot around here is Beware the lollipop of mediocrity; once you lick it, you suck forever!. Not going to happen, even if it means delaying the entire collection, which obviously puts us under immense financial strain as well as keeps all of you waiting on the next round of tees from us. Its not easy going, and weve had to really dig deep to find strength to keep on going forward. Just keep swimming, said Dory from Finding Nemo; said Anushka (our graphic designer) to me. So thats what were doing. Were at the factory now, working out next steps for the collection and improving our quality inspection processes and looking for full time quality control managers and even looking for alternate suppliers. And eating lots of idlis and dosas and appams. And swimming & swimming. We think we have a solution now and we hope to launch the collection in August itself. Youll hear about it here, of course.
