No White Christmas. Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukah to all. Life is good for us with great friends, kids that are working hard at school and progressing, and important work for Marlene and I. We are grateful for these periods when all is well, safely rest, God is near. The people in the sober houses are doing great and we are in a very stable period where 15 people are working together to organize their lives in meaningful healthy ways. Many will be transitioning when spring comes. Marlenes work with helping disabled people gain meaningful employment has helped many of the sober house residents with job tips. We are the only sober house I know that takes people with no money, provides employment help at no cost, and supports each resident with counseling options, free food, and transportation options. Marlene and Marilyn continue to work at providing custom apparel at reasonable prices. Their business is growing due to the quality of their products. Many women that have trouble finding dresses they are comfortable with and like have found Sand Dollar Design a Godsend. Ande is working as a nanny on her off hours from college, baking fancy apple pies for her friend (boy friend) and Abby has survived the trauma of learning to be a waitress and is working in Ft. Atkinson when she doesnt have classes. They are going on a trip together in Nashville (Sister bonding) with a couple other friends. Since we went to a few out of state weddings of relatives in last few months (New York & Santa Barbara) we will be around. I have a couple guys in the houses that want to learn ebay so I will be working with them and another one is into cars (BMW) so I am always looking for a new car adventure now that I have sold the Porsche, Cadillacs, and jeeps. Next year I will have a new knee (another new knee), continue counseling part-time, hopefully obtain a third sober house, and go to a lot of auctions to feed my ebay addiction. Life is good, today. May you always have the wind at your back and the sun in your face. Have a Great 2015! Marlene, Steve, Ande, Abby, Lola, and Nala_cat
