No damage to the house here - our neighbors cant say the same though. Houses on both sides of us have large trees on their roofs. We lost about 8-10 trees overall, with a large limb taking out our cottage garden and fence in front. A twelve-inch diameter, forty foot spruce tree is lying across our new truck but I dont see any signs of damage. Lost the windshield on the minivan. Two large limbs or trees block the driveway. The entire town of Poultney looks like this after a fierce thunderstorm ripped through here late yesterday afternoon. The entire town is without power, as dozens of power poles snapped and many more trees were uprooted across power lines and property. Ill use the quad copter for aerial photos of the damage to my neighborhood for our insurance claims, and then fire up the chain saws. Repair crews have been working all night on the power lines first the clear all the downed lines, trees and poles. Its a mess, folks, but at least Ive heard no reports of injuries. I dont believe there was a tornado - I was watching when the whiteout of rain hit and I think it was a straight- line microburst. Let the cleanup begin!
