No major injuries reported in shootout Friday, August 15, 2014 By Chris Pinkard | Courier News Police officers said no bystanders were injured in a shootout that occurred around 11:25 a.m. Friday on Lumerate Street in Blytheville. The Blytheville Police Department received multiple 911 calls Friday morning reporting shots being fired near Lumerate Street and Sixth Street. Officers responded to the scene where they detained an unspecified number of suspects who were believed to be involved in the shootings. The shootout allegedly began after a dispute over a vehicle. An estimated 20 rounds were fired, according to BPD Chief Ross Thompson, who said minor injuries were reported by some of the suspects. No one else was injured, but there was property damage in the area. At press time, officers were still on the scene investigating the incident.
