No matter how long this post is, the last week will not have been done justice. We left Crystal Lake and headed down a super nice bike path, the Prarie Path, for a 34 mile day. Luckily Ellen helped us slack pack so we were able to use our skate boards for some fun on the way. We met up with Nadia, Shannon, Kylie and David at their home in Wheaton. We got new boards through Lori back in Grove City. a guy named Steve made them for us! Thank you so much, we will use them to roll around towns and have some fun on the road too. The next day Nadia treated us to a movie at a theater that specializes in serving meals while viewers watch a film. Great meal and great movie! Then we went to a grocery store and Nadia loaded us up on food. Back at the house I made a fire and we cooked smores after eating dinner. The next morning we went to China Town to eat some Dim Sum. The meal was a new experience, with the Lazy Susan in the center of the table and carts continually passing us with food was unique. The most unusual food we ate were some chicken feet. We also visited a square with the 12 animal years. Kylie dragged us to a candy shop where I tried a dried piece of fish, sold in the candy shop. I can confirm that it was neither sweet or delicious. Some of the sous were selling $2,800 per lb. ginseng roots and others were selling live eels, crabs, and fish. My sweet drink exploded on me when I opened it with considerable force. Then we got giant eclairs from a bakery. The next day we went swimming at a pool. I stepped on a bee. My foot swelled up. The waterslides at the pool were violent and Cam said he nearly flew off the edge. I bruised my hip up a bit from getting thrown about. There was also a high dive which we played around on. After the pool we went to a store where I rolled around on one of the handicap-scootermobiles. I cooked up some stir-fry with Cam for dinner. The next day my foot was even more swollen. After a bit of journaling, Kevin picked us up and we got to see Ellen again! They took us out to watch the Cubs play on Wrigley Field which is 100 years old! They even got us shirts, and the Cubs pulled out a 7-1 victory. Hopefully we meet up with you guys again!! Thank you both so much for all of your time and attention making our stay memorable. Today we laid pretty low and got ourselves together preparing to hit the road tomorrow. This turned into leaving on Friday though, which is perfectly fine. My foot is considerably less swollen. Tonight we made hamburgers and homemade French fries.
