No matter what someone does to you you must forgive them. This is one of the hardest things to do. But once you can do this a greater gift is giving to you. By walking in forgiveness and not dwelling on what someone, group, organization, or even what a church did to you, you will find a peace come over yourself. But what is it to forgive? How do you truly forgive? Well once you have made up in your heart that you are going to let it go and forgive, you stop talking about it. You dont think about it. You throw it into the sea of forgetfulness. This is what is done for you when you ask Jesus for forgiveness for your sins. But if you walk in un-forgiveness then how can the Father forgive you? How can you even ask the Lord Jesus to go to the Father for you? This is also backed up by the word of God in Matthew 18: 23-35 Therefore the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who wished to settle accounts with his servants. When he began to settle, one was brought to him who owed him ten thousand talents. And since he could not pay, his master ordered him to be sold, with his wife and children and all that he had, and payment to be made. So the servant fell on his knees, imploring him, Have patience with me, and I will pay you everything. And out of pity for him, the master of that servant released him and forgave him the debt. But when that same servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii, and seizing him, he began to choke him, saying, Pay what you owe. So his fellow servant fell down and pleaded with him, Have patience with me, and I will pay you. He refused and went and put him in prison until he should pay the debt. When his fellow servants saw what had taken place, they were greatly distressed, and they went and reported to their master all that had taken place. Then his master summoned him and said to him, You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me. 33 And should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you? And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt. So also my heavenly Father will do to every one of you, if you do not forgive your brother from your heart. Forgive the Sinner 2 Corinthians 2: 5-11 Now if anyone has caused pain, he has caused it not to me, but in some measure—not to put it too severely—to all of you. For such a one, this punishment by the majority is enough, so you should rather turn to forgive and comfort him, or he may be overwhelmed by excessive sorrow. So I beg you to reaffirm your love for him. For this is why I wrote, that I might test you and know whether you are obedient in everything. Anyone whom you forgive, I also forgive. Indeed, what I have forgiven, if I have forgiven anything, has been for your sake in the presence of Christ, so that we would not be outwitted by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his designs. The bottom line is if you dont truly forgive, you cant be forgiven. You also block any break through that maybe coming your way and you will not move to you next season. This is not only for the individual, but for ministries also.
