No matter what you think of God vs atheism, Richard Dawkins latest assertion is incredibly offensive. Apart from looking different, people with Down syndrome often have mental impairment, stunted growth, heart disease, sleep apnoea and and umbilical hernias. So, if its our moral obligation to abort babies with Downs syndrome, as Dawkins suggests, whats next ... the obligation to terminate pregnancies of other babies with any of the above symptoms? And does that make it okay to terminate the lives of people suffering from conditions, such as depression, autism and Alzeimers, who also have limited ability to have human feelings? Richard Dawkins, you have crossed the line in a western society that believes all people have value and rights, no matter how they are abled!
