No more excuses: There are several ways to confront Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). We will either minimize the severity it, make excuses for it, or acknowledge that it exists. We, all of us, must confront IPV with viable solutions: education, information, accountability, and responsibility. Batterers, as challenging as it can be for many to conceptualize, deserve support, empathy, structure, and unconditional positive regard. Only then will they be receptive to interventions geared toward behavioral change, and addressing the fear that causes them to lose connection with their own humanity. #inmyopinion
