No one else seems to be worried but me, so heres my rant/rave. Lately, when I attend the Bulldogs games I notice a lot of empty seats in the Multiplex. I ask myself why?! I thought we were a hockey town and that we gather together and support our team. I understand people get busy, have other commitments, dont like hockey or they watch the Canucks on TV, but I really hope people will start coming and support their locally owned team. The boys are playing excellent hockey and are sitting currently in second place in the Island division. They could use all the support they can get. Ive noticed its just not our team thats declined in attendance its the whole league. I really think they need to advertise the league because its great to see young athletes chase their dreams, receive a scholarship and moving onto the next level. Ive met a lot of amazing people through the Bulldogs from fans, players, parents, billets and staff. So please Port Alberni come check out your team and support them by coming to a game. This is OUR TEAM and I dont want anything to happen to it. That worries me everyday and I know I shouldnt but everyone has fears and thats one of mine. Were not the only locally owned team. Trail, Merritt, Powell River and Prince George are also all locally owned and rely on people attending games and buying from their biggest fundraisers of the year. The Bulldogs have theirs on right now so purchase a ticket and be entered to win an early bird draw of $1,000.00 or the grand prize of $25,000 or a 2015 Jeep Wrangler. Tickets are $50 so make sure you purchase them because theirs only 1,999 tickets. The Alberni Valley Bulldogs are a big part of Port Alberni and are great role models for our community and give us entertainment for 6 months or more. So in return we have to do our share by going to games and fill the stands. So come on PORT ALBERNI lets fill the MULTIPLEX and support OUR TEAM!! Bring a friend because the more chants of Go Dogs Go the boys get pumped up! Were the 7th man so lets invade the multiplex all season long. GO DOGS GO!!
