No one has a better herd than we do. Thank you for the specific prayers all day today. Your prayers for peace and calm were answered in a mighty way. Dr. Penley is a very caring man/doctor and told us the not-so-good news in a very gentle manner. The scan showed the tumors are bigger and the current chemo regiment is not working. He did say there are other options to try if I/we wanted to. Mark and he get one vote each and I get three votes. Right now we will try a new treatment that included the infusion in the office and then instead of the pump, I will take an oral mediation twice a day for a week. We know it is not a cure and probably won’t be very effective. The goals are to extend life and have a good quality of life at the same time. These two don’t always go together and we will just try it and see what happens. In the words of Dr. Penely, “cancer sucks out loud.” Amen to that. I’m not ready to give up. And besides, I have too many projects that I need to finish! My quality of life is pretty good and I still do lots of things I want to do and be with people I love. We will continue to take one step at a time and process this as we can. We are very tender at this time and probably will be for a time but we still know that God has a plan and it is a perfect plan. Our plan would be very different but we know God is in control and we are thankful. Please continue to pray for us as we navigate this development. Weslee and Nathan could use your prayers too.
