“No prophecy ever originated from humans. Instead, it was given by the Holy Spirit as humans spoke under God’s direction.” (2 Peter 1:21 GWT) The bible is not just a collection of clever words on paper. The bible is not just a collection of stories. The bible remains the bestselling book in the world. It is also the most translated book in the world. This being said, I have to ask myself the question, why then is our nation in such moral decay? One thought that came to mind is trust. A majority of bible readers do not place there complete trust in all the guidance and promises contained in this great book. Why not? The misconceptions that I mentioned in the first two sentences. We however, are reminded in this portion of scripture that all contents of the bible were inspired by the Holy Spirit. This process of inspiration was under complete control of the Spirit. This makes every written word contained in the bible true, authentic and accurate. There are times when a colleague is on vacation and I need to take care of an issue with one of his programs. I am not the author of his program. Therefore, this places doubt in my mind how things are supposed to work. In the same manner, God is the creator and author of all humanity. Who better to know what is best for each of us than our Creator? Who better to know how each of us tick that our Creator? Who better to write the instruction manual for humanity than the Creator Himself? So let us pray today that the Spirit would inspire us and equip each of us to have 100% total and complete confidence in His teachings and promises. If we do this, it will instill excitement and joy back into our lives. This then translates to others as we share our stories.
