No, this is not from Tibet. This selfie is from atop Mt Edwards along the highest portion of the Continental Divide Trail. Mt Greys and Mt Torreys are in back ground. 2008 was a high snow year in the Rocky Mountains so I decided to carry my dads old ice ax along my CDT journey. It actually did come in handy on a few cornices and it made for a great back scratcher for skeeter bites as well as a walking stick. And of course it was fun walking with the old mans ice ax. Whats cool, some images of the ice ax made it into the up-coming book titled Americas Great Hiking Trails (due date September 23rd). The publisher (Rizzoli) sent me an advanced copy and I cant be more pleased. Karen Berger is the writer and she really put together something special. The quality of Rizzolis production is top notch and to see my images show casing Americas National Scenic Trails and beyond is well, a dream come true.
