No tranquillisers or guns at hand? I reckon they had guns (blatantly), but to kill a tourist tiger (which no doubt is a beautiful creature) over a drunk disabled man falling into the tigers den is not worth it, neither for the money making tourism, nor for wildlife preservation. The life of a human being nowadays is measured in monetary terms, much like the colonialists whod rather slaughter children, and innocent civilians via air strikes and ground invasions in exchange for oil, protecting national interests, maintaining and political hegemony. Sad times.
