None of it connects. Not one single part. None of the characters ever evolve beyond their single-dimension, and the acting for the most part is lazy and horrid. Cusack is the only one who gives a semblance of a performance, whereas all the others swing and miss horribly, especially Emma Roberts. Not only does she not come across as a poet, she does not even come across as a believable person. An interesting concept of a movie has been totally wasted on bland phoney characters and dreary performances. Bad! Bad Bad Bad! P.S.: Would it have killed them to have a frigging soundtrack!?
