Noosa Top Water Tuna Social Sunday March 1st 2015 Teams of 2 or 3 anglers fishing in the same vessel or land based. $10 entry per angler, pay on the day Casting only! Poppers, stick baits, fly, bibbed hard bodies, plastics jig heads etc are all allowed. No slugs or metal jigs No trolling Fishing time: 6:00am till 12:00 however land based teams can register at 5:00am to allow for extra travel by foot. Meeting point: at the sand bags/dog beach Prizes: 1st place team (Total length points plus bonus points dived by the number of team members) Biggest Tuna Best top water caught . Species: Pelagic fish only All tuna species, all mackerel species, dolphin fish, cobia, billfish, long tom and wahoo. No reef or rock species, sharks or rays. Min size: 30cm Bonito, 50cm for all other tuna species All other species 60cm or current Qld legal size limit. Points scoring: A full point per centimeter for all tuna species ½ point per centimeter for all Mackerel species, dolphin fish, cobia, billfish, longtom and wahoo. Maximum of 2 of each species of tuna and maximum of 1 of each permitted other species per angler measured. 20 bonus points for extra tuna species 20 bonus points if caught on a surface lure 10 bonus points if caught on fly Winning team must have at least 1 tuna Fish are measured from nose to tail fork Photos/proof of capture: Photos required with angler holding fish and the fish on a brag mat. Token required in brag mat pictures If fish is longer than the brag mat a decision will be made between the top water tournament officials as to the size. In the case of a draw a cast off will be held to decide the winner Boundaries: Laguna bay and as far as you can go and come back within the 5 hour time slot. In case of bad weather it will be put off for 2 weeks in case of more bad weather another 2 weeks. Free sausage sizzle and drink NO Berley!
