Nor Cal New Moon “Wild Flower Moon” Mar 30 – Apr 27 2014. Full Moon = Apr 14. Month of the Grand Cross and Blood Moon. I named this month Wild Flower Moon because this is the greenest month in Northern California. It is the end of the rainy season and spring is in full bloom. The snow begins to melt in the mountains and the rivers swell with water. This month also includes a huge increase in allergies from pollens. Spring seems to have arrived even earlier than usual this year due to the shortage of rain. This is the month to view vernal pools. These pools, also called hog wallows, springtime pools, holes-in-th-grass, or California prairie potholes, are standing water formed after the winter rains. Usually only about 2’ deep, as they begin to evaporate, wild flowers and plants bloom in their wake. As many as 200 different species grow, many that are rare and endangered due to loss of wild habitat to agriculture and urban sprawl. This is also the month that wildlife becomes more active. Waterfowl babies hatch. Snakes come out of hibernation and many migrating birds return or pass through on their way north. This month will also host a significant astrological event called the Grand Cross. A Grand Cross occurs when 4 planets, one representing each of the 4 elements (fire, earth, air and water) are aligned with each other by 90 degree angles forming a square. The 4 planets in this month’s Grand Cross are Uranus, Pluto, Jupiter, and Mars. This will also be a cardinal Grand Cross which causes difficulties in accomplishing goals. The event will begin on the new moon of Mar 30 and continue on through the full moon lunar eclipse on Apr 15. This lunar eclipse is the first of 4 Blood Moons, so called because the moon will turn dark red during the eclipse. The Blood Moon is very rare and usually marks negative events in history. The Grand Cross will peak in the 3rd week of April, but we will feel the effects for the next year and a half. It is expected that this event will bring societal change to a large mass of people. Changes will occur personally and collectively. Astrologers say that the Grand Cross is a source of extreme tension that might be manifested in weather changes, technology, financial issues, or transformation in government. Thus, this is a time for all Lightworkers to shine their light at its brightest as a way to counterbalance the effect of the astrological energies on Earth.
