Norfolk is a frustrating city to visit and fully appreciate. On a Saturday, there appeared to be almost no life on the downtown sidewalks and little commerce. Its an old Navy town, but the base is still some distance from the downtown area. I can see potential in Norfolk that could be developed in the future. Ive been here several times for events at the General Douglas MacArthur Memorial and to see the the USS Wisconsin (BB-64). Driving in the area is always a challenge. The naval and maritime history is very rich in Norfolk and worth seeing otherwise.
