Norm and Debra, I just want to tell you how proud dad ( Charlie ) and I are of you for following Gods leading in your life. And I want to share something with you. I hope it encourages you. --- One of my favorite memories growing up, is of listening to my mom read stories of Christians who put feet to their faith and obeyed! They did things that totally went against the wise council of man. I learned early that mans thinking is so limited compared to Gods. If my parents listened to the wise council of man they never would have taken me and my siblings, to live with natives in the mountains of the Philippines. But they obeyed and went where God called them! Praise God. If my sister and her husband has listened to the wise council of man they never would have taken their newborn, sickly son into the tribes of Paraguay. But they obeyed and went where God called them! Praise God. If Jesus had listened to Peters wise council He never would have gone to the cross to die for us in obedience to what God sent Him to do. But He obeyed! PRAISE GOD!! The Bible and the library is full of stories about how God calls His children to do things that look foolish to man when He calls us to trust Him and walk by faith. If God called us to do things that made good sense we would have no need for FAITH, mans wise council would be enough. But HE does call us to do things that will cause men to rise up and call us foolish, stupid, wasteful, ridiculous etc. and it is not an easy cross to bear. Thankfully He strengthens us and walks with us even when everyone else abandons us.... Noah is a great example, good thing he trusted God, was willing to look like a fool and obeyed. Praise God! I know God has put a desire in both of your hearts to adopt, I know the path He has taken both of you on to chose to adopt from Haiti! Walk toward it joyfully, and let His power direct you along the way. Buckle up, youre in for the ride of your life, and youve had a lot of rides! I hope you will continue to share your faith building story with all of us, because ultimately having the faith to be more like Christ is the goal, it is the great and grand prize! And we will benefit from what you learn. God will use what we treasure (our life, money, time, health etc) to stretch our faith the most, but they all belong to Him to do with as HE pleases! Proverbs 3: 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. 7 Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the Lord and turn away from evil. 8 It will be healing to your body And refreshment to your bones.
