*Normalisation of marks – Admission on the basis of JEE Main - TopicsExpress

*Normalisation of marks – Admission on the basis of JEE Main score is getting more complex* Andhra Pradesh high court has issued a notice to the Union ministry for human resources and development, JEE apex and the executive director JEE (Main) on a petition challenging the procedure notified by authorities for admission into engineering courses in National Institute of Technology and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. In this petition, petitioners have challenged the normalisation procedure being adopted in JEE (Mains) 2013 in AP High Court, Hyderabad vide Writ Petition No. 18252 of 2013. The court has given 15 days time to Government/CBSE/JEE. Within two weeks time they are supposed to submit their response to AP high court. In between this JEE Main authority can go ahead with declaration of results and counselling process but they are directed to intimate all admitted candidates that their admission is subject to further orders and final outcome of the writ petition pending before the High Court of AP. AP high court decision appears to be applicable to only NIT/CFTI admissions. Apparently the private universities can go ahead with the admission based on ranks issued by CBSE.
