Normally at this time I would be dancing around the house singing its my favorite day, its my favorite day, its my favorite daaaaay but that tradition is broken. Nothing makes me happier than the sights and smells of Thanksgiving dinner, a table full of people I love, and laughter and smiles. Without my mom and Sara, new traditions begin. And thats okay. When you gather with family and friends today, hug them a little tighter and let them know how special they are to you. More importantly, reach out to those in need this holiday season - those without family, those who are struggling or hurting, those who need a friend. Shovel a neighbors sidewalk, pay for an extra cup of coffee, bake cookies for your police or fire department, volunteer your time, give a homeless person a pair of gloves .... opportunities are all around us. Take time every day to remember your blessings and share them with others. Im going to make my corner of this messed up world a little brighter, and hoping you will shine your light with mine.
