North Platte High School Announcement Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014 Parent Life will be held today, Nov. 4th in the Alumni Room during Mentor period. Pregnant girls are welcome plus those whose babies have already been born. Fathers are welcome, also. You may bring a friend if you wish. For more information, please stop in to the Nurses Office. FCA will be supporting the girls at District Volleyball tomorrow night, Oct. 5th. We will meet in the Dawghouse again next week at 8:00pm. See you at the game. Practice for new National Honor Society members will be Thursday, Nov. 6th during MA in the PAC. Don Milroy will be taking senior banner pictures (letter winners in sports, music, band, or speech and debate) for those of you that didnt get them this fall. They will take place in the commons area at the high school on Thursday, Nov. 6th from 3:45pm - 6:00pm. Please bring $40 and wear a white shirt. Seniors, this is your last chance to get a senior banner! There will be a sign up meeting for those interested in NPHS Swimming and Diving. The meeting will be Thursday, Nov. 6th directly after school in room 1514. I will be handing out information for the upcoming season so it is important be present. I look forward to seeing you all there. All ring and graduation orders will be taken on Thursday, Nov. 6th from 11:40am-4:00pm and Friday, Nov. 7th from 7:45am-1:50pm in the Alumni Room. A $60 deposit is required when placing an order. All Term 1 Art students: Please pick up your art work from your classes. All past art work will be disposed of after Friday, Nov. 7th! Jr Class: There will be a Prom meeting Monday, Nov. 10th @ 6:30pm in room 1108. Colors,crown, tiara, and sashes. Auditions for this years musical Shrek will be held on Tuesday, November 11th at 6:00pm in the choir room. You do not need to be enrolled in a music class to audition. This is a huge cast and we would love to see some new faces at auditions. See Mrs. Purdy in room 1617 for audition materials. Student Council is hosting a Dodge Ball Tournament on Monday, Nov. 17th and Tuesday, Nov. 18th at the High School. The money raised will go toward Make-A-Wish. Teams much have 8 players and a minimum of 2 girls. Cost per team is $40 or $5 per player. Team sign-up sheets can be found in the Main Office. The money & sign-up forms must be returned to Mr. Livingston no later than Wednesday, Nov. 12th. Red tags for backpacks MUST be returned to the Nurses Office when no longer medically necessary. Ice packs & heat packs MUST also be returned to the Nurses Office the SAME DAY they were checked out. Any North Platte High School student wanting to try-out to participate in a winter sport (Girls & Boys Basketball, Girls & Boys Swimming & Diving, and Wrestling) must obtain a Green Slip from the Activities Office. To obtain a green slip the student must have a current physical on file; have turned in a signed Student Code of Conduct, a pink NSAA Student/Parent Consent Form, Transportation Sheet; have paid any fines or fees due; and have purchased an Activities Card for the 2014-2015 school year. Winter sports practices begin Monday, November 17th. No one will be allowed to try-out or participate until all the above requirements have been met. Activities Card pictures may be taken before or after school in the Activities Office. Checks should be made payable to NPHS for the exact amount of $30.00. Seniors: The local scholarships that are listed in your orange Post-Planning Guide that you received from the counselors are still available in the Guidance Office. Stop by anytime and pick up the scholarship applications that you may qualify for. Completed scholarship applications are due to the Guidance Office by Wednesday, Dec. 17th!
