The programme is designed to produce graduates who can apply the science of informatics to the collection, storage, use, and transmission of information to meet the legal, professional, ethical and administrative records keeping requirements of health care delivery in Nigeria and by extension, West Africa. National Diploma in Health Information Management Candidates wishing to undergo the programme must possess five credits in SSCE, GCE O’ Level from English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics at not more than 2 sittings. The duration of training is 3 years of 2 years intensive theory and one year practical training. On completion of the programme, successful students proceed to the Higher National Diploma of the programme. On completion students are awarded Higher National Diploma in Health Information Management. Professional Certificate for Health Information Technicians Candidates wishing to undergo the programme must possess five credits in SSCE, GCE O’ Level. Three of which must be from English, Mathematics and Biology at not more than 2 sittings. The duration of training is 3 years of 2 years intensive theory and one year practical training.
