#NorthDakota #Employment #Veterans #Troops Position Title: Senior Process Safety Engineer Department/Location: Health, Safety, and Environmental / Compliance Dakota Gasification Company – Beulah, ND Closing date extended: August 31, 2013 Position Purpose/Job Function: This position is responsible for planning, development, communication, administration, auditing and investigating of all Occupational Safety Health Administration (OSHA) Process Safety Management (PSM) regulatory compliance and safety-related policies, procedures and incidents necessary to provide worker, facility and public safety. Specifically, the position focuses on Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) compliance, program development, review, and management. This position reports to the Compliance Program Supervisor. Necessary Qualifications: This position must have an understanding of chemical, petrochemical, and/or petroleum industrial settings, experience with developing and managing PHA programs, awareness of state and federal regulations, most notably OSHA, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), acquired through a four-year degree in a chemical engineering discipline from an EAC/ABET accredited engineering program and eight to eleven years of related process safety experience in a petroleum refining, petrochemical or chemical manufacturing setting. Consideration will be given to individuals who have a petroleum or industrial engineering degree with the requisite process engineering experience. A Master’s degree is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Typical Physical/Mental/Environmental Demands: Requires frequent sitting; occasional standing, walking, stooping, bending, climbing stairs and ladders, kneeling, lifting 25 pounds or less, reaching above and below shoulder level, use of keyboard and computer. Requires finger dexterity, good hearing, color vision, and the ability to speak. Requires the ability to read, write, analyze data, conduct research, develop recommendations, direct others, develop plans, procedures, goals, and present information to others. Over 50 percent of the job is in an indoor office environment. This position is occasionally exposed to extreme heat, cold, vibration, noise, poor ventilation, confined areas, and work at heights up to 150 feet.
