NorthWestern Energy, a regional utility with general offices in Butte, has renewed and increased its major sponsorship of the Montana Folk Festival in Butte on July 11-13, 2014, to $20,000. NorthWestern Energy has been a major sponsor of the folk festival since 2008, with a mix of cash and in-kind services that have permanently improved the power infrastructure of Uptown Butte. They continue to show their strong commitment to give back to the community in which they do business and we greatly appreciate their partnership, said George Everett of the Montana Folk Festival Executive Committee. We are proud to lend our support in a variety of ways including the many NorthWestern employees who volunteer their time to the festival. Butte is home to almost 600 employees and their families, the largest concentration in our three-state service area, and we have provided approximately $100,000 in support since the festivals inception, said Claudia Rapkoch, Director - Corporate Communications. Our mission is to enrich lives through a safe, sustainable energy future and were proud to help sustain this enriching community event that touches so many lives. NorthWestern Energys sponsorship is well timed, as it will be doubled thanks to the recently announced challenge by the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation to match business sponsorships up to $50,000.
