For the second time in recent months, we had home advantage at this tournament and we used this to our advantage, finishing first in the. Deal table over any other Organization (in Kumite that is), so a huge congratulations to you all. A few special mentions: Well done to both Sophie and Ackilesh after competing in their first EVER competition and showing that the hard work they are putting into their training is finally paying off, well done guys. Well done to Andy as well, after breaking his nose in his first tournament last year this could have potentially been a big barrier to overcome but did fantastically. The 3 senior girls of the club, Hannah, Hannah and Tianna, all showing signs of improvement with some excellent displays this weekend, well done girls. Jen and Rico, both these lads started at the club 2 and a half years ago and what a transformation they have come from to where they are now. Excellent displays from Jen in his first tournament in a while and huge congratulation to Rico who looked sharp as ever. Both lads have had university commitments and havent trained as much as they could but still showing huge amounts of potential, hopefully they will be back training full time and be especially ready for the BUCS tournament in 3 weeks for the individuals and the team that they will be in. Routine victories for World Champions Garrick and Caroline, showing some strong form coming out of the competition. Another strong year hopefully for them both. And finally, in my eyes the performance of the day, Aaron Tarleton-Hodgson has showed huge improvements over the year and a half he has been with the club, taking more medals at the club. But, within the team, Aaron produced a spectacular performance against the current Junior IKU World Ippon champion, winning 6-1, to help the team to a solid silver medal. Well done keep up the hard work! Well done to everyone, next competition is 3 weeks away in Sheffield and is the BUCS championships. Also a big thanks to all the entrants this weekend, especially those who travelled a long wa, Shikon England, York St Johns University, Glasgow University, Durham University and all the other entrants!
