Nostalgia overload. Said goodbye to the Racer today and found a couple notes from high school stashed in the trunk. Having gotten that car at the peak of my junior year hormones, I feel like Im losing a friend. That car drove Logan and I to our first day of senior year. It took me to track meets and to my black belt ceremony. It brought Logan and I home from prom. It took me to work at Home Depot in between classes at ODU. It brought me to the houses of best friends forever that are no longer friends. It took me to work weekends at Red Star to meet my future husband. It moved us into our first apartment together. It brought me to my first legal beer on Colley Ave the day after I started my internship with VDOT. We brought puppy Aeris home in this car, and then we brought home a scared and grungy Fledge in it too. I took baby Darynn home from the hospital in this car. So yes, whereas it may be a dirty (like real real dirty) chunk of metal to you, let me reminisce for a minute about everything Ive been through in this car. Im just sad that this car wont be able to bring my next dog home as well.
